What to do on a day off? Bake a cake (or two)!
Sometimes the best breakfast is dessert (after your morning green juice of course)! So I woke up, cleaned the house, then proceeded to bake mini cupcakes and a chocolate chip pound cake. While my Sara Bareilles crooned in the background, the kitchen filled with that yummy baked cake smell. Delicious!

Yoga, Betties, and Food
It's about 2:30pm on a Wednesday afternoon, and I just finished cleaning and making lunch. I had a bit of a hectic morning, and the gloomy New York weather today didn't help. When I got home, the first thing I could think of to de-stess was to cook a delicious meal for myself. There's something incredibly satisfying about putting on some Sam Smith Pandora, and firing up the stove (accompanied by a glass of wine if I'm making dinner).
Today I made Arugula pesto with al dente spaghetti and chopped tomatoes. Delicioso! Then I sat myself in front of the TV, flipped on The Cooking Channel and ate my heart out! It was absolute perfection! Then Haylie Duff's "Real Girl Kitchen" ad came on, and I got hit with with the inspiration to create my own food blog!
Everyone knows that I love teaching Yoga, and I live for my cabaret company Sass N' Betties. But no one really knows how big a role food plays in both my practice and my performance. It was through my yoga practice that I discovered conscious eating, and we used to start every Sass N' Betties rehearsal by breaking bread together.
Bottom line… I just LOVE food! So welcome to A Sassy Kitchen, where I'll be blogging, recipe posting, reviewing, and photographing all things FOOD (and Life) related!
